What will you give yourself for the holidays?

As the holiday season approaches, many of us focus on giving to others—sharing gifts, time, and kindness with friends, family, and colleagues. This is all well and good, but as someone who has spent decades helping others prioritize their own health and well-being, I’d like to ask you: What will you give yourself this holiday season?

For me, the answer is clear. My gift to myself this year is the gift of good health, and it’s one I plan to cherish throughout the coming months and beyond.

Prioritizing your own health

Health isn’t just about looking good or feeling energetic—it’s about honoring your body, mind, and spirit. Over the years, I’ve come to understand that staying healthy requires intention and action. That’s why I make time for regular exercise, even during the busiest times of the year. I meet with my trainer almost daily, take frequent walks or get on the treadmill, lift weights, and enjoy ballroom dancing with Loralee. Physical movement is a way of giving back to myself: use it or lose it! Plus, these activities are great stress relievers, helping me to feel strong, alive, and ready to face the challenges of life.

Taking care of our health also involves nourishing our bodies from the inside out. For me, that means maintaining a balanced diet filled with colorful, hydrating foods, staying well-rested, and understanding that small, consistent efforts lead to big, lasting results.

Cherishing relationships

This season, I’m also giving myself the gift of connection. My friends, colleagues, and loved ones are a cornerstone of my happiness. I feel incredibly lucky to work alongside a team of dedicated, creative individuals who inspire me every day. To me, they’re more than colleagues—they’re family.

Building strong relationships, both personal and professional, has been one of the greatest joys of my life. Whether it’s through shared laughter, meaningful conversations, or simply taking a moment to appreciate each other, these connections fill my heart and remind me of what’s truly important.

What about you?

As you navigate the holiday season this year, I encourage you to take a moment and think about what you’ll give to yourself. Maybe it’s a commitment to better self-care, an extra hour of sleep, or the courage to say “no” to obligations that don’t serve you. Maybe it’s the gift of joy—spending time with loved ones, trying something new, or simply savoring the beauty of the moment.

Whatever you choose, remember that taking care of yourself isn’t selfish—it’s necessary. We can’t give what we don’t have. When we give to ourselves, we replenish our energy, strengthen our resilience, and become better equipped to give to others.

This holiday season, I’m choosing health, connection, and gratitude. How about you?

I’m sending you my warmest wishes for a happy, healthy, and fulfilling holiday season!
